Vehicle Description
Vintage style on the outside, custom comfort on the inside, and the
most monstrous crate V8 ever under the hood. Oh yes, this 1977 Ford
F-100 Restomod is awesome. So while the fuel-injected Godzilla
motor grabs your attention in the headlines, it's the way they made
the full package detail-oriented that makes this power pickup so
irresistible.
Sure the slammed stance and 20-inch Billet Specialties alloys
instantly announce this is a street machine. But we also love how
this makes sure it gives a proper classic Ford impression. The
sunset-style graphics dominate both sides. This mimics the Free
Wheelin' package offered by Ford back in the day, but what you see
now is actually a recent addition. And that's sitting on top of a
more recent respray. So you have a smooth and glossy style to the
retro-cool presentation. Plus, as you look through the full
package, you're going to spot plenty of attention to the
fundamentals. Clean glass, pliable weather-stripping, a
fresh-looking grille, and mirror-like bumpers are all part of this
clean and stylish presentation. And while you're unlikely to be
doing too many lumber runs with this restomod, the full liner paint
bed and thick rubber mat have the right classic truck attitude.
The interior continues the custom attitude that also respects the
truck's history. For example, the seats could be considered a bench
setup, but this modern TMI unit is a fresh addition that has a
sports car level of individual bolstering and the kind of trim
you'd expect on an exotic car. Plush carpeting, nice door panels,
and a smooth dash make this an inviting atmosphere. There are
well-integrated upgrades like a retro-style AM/FM digital tuner
with Bluetooth, power windows, and provisions for air conditioning
(it likely has a slow leak.) And details like the sports steering
wheel and full gauge package are the kind of upgrades that let you
know this truck is something special.
Under the hood is one of Ford's newest and meanest powerhouses.
It's the 7.3-liter fuel-injected V8 that was called Godzilla for a
very good reason. This displacement is larger than any other gas or
diesel powerhouse in the current Super Duty lineup. We like how
this setup does a good job of balancing the everyday ease of a
modern motor and Godzilla-like power when you want to lean into it.
Part of this setup is also because there's smart packaging to
handle the power. It starts with a stout rebuilt 4R70W four-speed
automatic overdrive transmission with a US Shift control module,
and this feeds into a strong Dana40 rear end. The front suspension
is now a Mustang II-style setup with tubular control arms and
adjustable coilovers. The rear is a parallel four-link with Panhard
bar and adjustable coilovers. Add in power seeing, power brakes,
front discs, and grippy ZR-rated tires, and you just know this is
serious power pickup fun.
This is the fresh build that mixes bold style, serious brawn, and
real cruiser fun. You know this Free Wheelin' Godzilla belongs in
your garage. Call today!!!
