This Guards Red over Black, 1985 Porsche 911 Carrera Sunroof Coupe,
with less than 60k miles, is by any measure a true time capsule. It
features all original paintwork, confirmed by paint meter readings,
and original upholstery. Debuted in 1984, the 911 Carrera shared
many styling cues with its immediate predecessor, the 911 SC
3.0-liter, but a larger, more powerful 3.2-liter flat-six engine
and other standard features made the Carrera a preferred choice.
With one Southern California owner for the past 36 years, this
Carrera has been meticulously maintained. Recent service work
(October of 2021) by Cape Auto Repair, Mission Viejo, California,
included sensor replacement (crankshaft reference, crankshaft
speed, and cylinder head temperature), brake fluid flush, and front
hood strut replacement. An oil/filter change was performed in
January of 2023 at 59,020 miles.
The Guards Red exterior of this Carrera, an all-time favorite
choice for many Porsche enthusiasts, is complemented by a staggered
set of new Continental Extreme Contact Sport 02 performance tires
(205 55 ZR16 front/225 50 ZR16 rear) mounted on Fuch alloy wheels
with monochromatic Porsche Crest center caps, power sunroof, dual
power side mirrors, black rubber side molding below the doors,
black windshield/window trim, black Carrera script on the engine
lid, black rubber bumperettes, and a red PORSCHE reflective panel
spanning the area between its taillights.
The interior features black leather, semi-power front Sport Seats
with red piping, black floor mats to protect the original factory
mats, and a Blaupunkt Monterey SQR 23 AM/FM with cassette
multi-speaker audio system.
The 1985 Carrera is equipped with an air-cooled 3.2L flat-six
engine paired with a 5-speed manual 915 transmission delivering
207hp with 192 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels and four-wheel
disc braking system. Performance statistics of 0-60 MPH in 6.2
seconds and a top speed of 152 MPH were reported. Standard
equipment includes four-wheel independent suspension, rack and
pinion steering, power-assisted brakes, and stabilizer bars, front,
and rear.
The sale of this 1985 Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe, located in
California, will include a clear California pink slip (title)
issued to the current owner on May 17, 1997, original owner's
manual, registration cards on file from 1987 to present, paperwork
from 1987 to present, jack, collapsible spare tire, and clean
Carfax. This is a very rare opportunity to find an original 911
3.2L with only 2 owners and original paint in pristine
condition.
