For Sale: 1957 Chevrolet Nomad in Arlington, Texas

Vehicle Description

1957 Chevrolet Nomad

Tri-Five Chevrolets are a staple in the classic car hobby. Even those that aren't hobbyists personally still are typically able to point out the Bel Air in the crowd. These cars are the poster child for the 50's and some of the most popular classics to own. They had multiple trim levels with the Nomad being introduced as the "halo car" for Chevrolet, meaning they were a low production model with all the bells and whistles which was intended to draw people to the Chevrolet line. The nameplate was originally applied to a concept car in 1954 that actually resembled more a Corvette wagon than a Bel Air one. The Nomad has since become one of the most highly collectable tri-five cars on the market as only 6,535 were made in '57. This car is a true Nomad with only 413 miles on it since completed. It is painted in a very nice two tone Cream and Copper paint that has an excellent finish. The metallic Copper roof line really comes to life out in the sun and makes for a unique combo you aren't going to see on most (if not any) other Nomads out there. The front has been nosed so it no longer wears the front V emblem or has the dual spears. This really gives it a very sharp looking slick front end. The chrome work all has a beautiful shine and it has new Madmooks tail gate trim in the back. The rear door has also been modified to fully open to the top instead of being split down the middle. The electrical is all working and the tail lights have been changed out to Dakota Digital LEDs. The car has a great stance and was lower 4 inches in the front and 3 in the back. This really accentuates the long sleek body lines of the Nomad in such a great way. It has 18 inch Foose wheels under all four corners with fresh tires (front-225/40R18, rear-245/40R18).

Turning those new tires is a Vortec 350 crate 295 hp motor. Being a crate with such low miles this car has a long life ahead of it. Under the hood the car is very clean with the inner fenders, firewall and radiator support all being painted to match the body. The engine has been fitted with a chrome Holly air cleaner, Holly valve covers, polished Rocky serpentine belt system, PowerMaster alternator, MSD pro billet distributor, and Weiand water pump. Keeping it running cool at all times is the Wizard cooling polished aluminum radiator with polished overflow tank and Electric fans. The transmission is a 700R4 automatic that moves through the gears with ease. The car is an excellent driver and has a lot of nice upgrades like 4 wheel power disc brakes, power rack & pinion steering with a Borgeson steering box, tubular a arms, adjustable front coil overs, a new American Auto Wire harness and more. This thing has a lot going on so there is certainly some things we likely left out.

Talking to any old car guy and he will tell you there is a lot you can tell about a car based on small details like how the doors close. There is a certain "thud" that happens which seems silly but speak to how solid and well built a car is. Well this one has that distinctive feeling likely thanks in part to the Rocky Hinge Bear claw latches. In the drivers door jamb you will also not the release for the rear hatch has been hidden away. The upholstery the car has been completely redone with a two tone custom Ciadella interior. The material is all in great condition and it has matching seat belts for both front and rear passengers. The dash features a combination of both stock and aftermarket components which really turned out nice. It is painted to match the primary body color and wears some of its original trim. The gauges however, still use the original mounting spots but are all new and backlit in Red. The tilt column has also been painted and is fitted with all billet levels and a very nice custom leather wrapped steering wheel. The car also now has specialty power windows and an Old Air AC/heat system.

This is one super clean Nomad that is packed with a ton of very nice upgrades. If you want one you can hop in and go...this is it!
