2013 Ford Shelby Raptor
Despite being well known for the Mustangs and Cobras, Carroll
Shelby had his hand in a lot of projects. He was truly a visionary
and in the 80's saw a growing desire for adventure and off road
capabilities combined with performance so started working with
Dodge to make high performance trucks. This market only continued
to grow and with the introduction of the Ford Raptor in 2010 Shelby
American saw the perfect platform. The first Shelby Raptor was
introduced in 2013 and they took an already powerful truck and
packed it with their Shelby flare. This beautiful 2013 Ford Shelby
Raptor is 1 of only 500 produced and is CSM# 13SR0021. There were 3
graphic packages available and this clean 4 door received the
traditional GT inspired Red with White racing stripe and side
stripes. Paired with the Blacked out accents the truck has a sleek
yet rugged look that lets you know it means business. The front
bumper features additional fog lights as well as a winch to cover
all your off roading needs. In addition to the Shelby package this
truck was taken up a notch with a Truck Hero Undercover to keep all
your gear out of the weather. The tailgate also has a fold down
step and hand rail to make loading all that gear easier. The Shelby
wheels were an optional part of the package and this one was
ordered with the Black Shelby wheels with Open Country Xtreme Toyo
A off road tires.
This beast came with a powerful 6.2L V8 which Shelby engineers
improved upon with their polished 2.9L Whipple supercharger. The
modification boosted performance from 411hp to 575hp delivering all
the power you could ask for. The original 6 speed automatic
transmission with manual shift option was strong enough to take the
change so Shelby then focused in on the handling and off road
capabilities by modifying the upper and lower control arms, adding
SVT shocks, and improved bushings. They also added in an oversized
intercooler to improve cooling. The truck sounds awesome thanks to
the Shelby installed custom Borla exhaust with chrome tips. The
truck runs extremely well and with 72,370 original miles has a long
life ahead of it.

The interior received the same Shelby treatment as the rest with
custom two tone Black and Red leather with "Shelby" embroidery. It
has high back power bucket seats up front and the upholstery work
throughout is in excellent condition. The dash features a lot of
the stock Ford components but the center vents were modified to
house Autometer Fuel Pressure and Boost gauges. The glove box also
received the the iconic Shelby American tag identifying the truck
as a true Shelby Raptor and includes an image of Carroll Shelby's
signature as an homage to their history as well as his personal
history of signing the dash of cars he had a hand in. The truck is
fully loaded with all the luxury features available like
navigation, heated/cooled seats, all power options, a great stereo
and more.
If you want one of the coolest trucks available this Shelby has to
be on your list. Raptors are already cool in their own right but
this Shelby really kicks it up a notch. It looks great, runs great
and needs nothing. Shelby products also tend to be collectable and
hold their value well.
