Vehicle Description
This 1965 Ford Mustang features its original A-code 289ci engine
with the factory Palomino Pony interior, automatic transmission,
air conditioning, power steering, disc brakes and center console. A
complete ground-up restoration was performed on this well-optioned
Arizona car with all of its original factory sheet metal. With just
two previous owners, it has spent its entire life in Southern
Arizona. This car was driven daily from 1965 until 1981, when it
was parked and stored in the owner's garage for 32 years. The
previous owner performed this incredible ground-up restoration.
This entire build was performed solely by its previous owner, when
it was completely disassembled, and the entire car was stripped to
the bare metal. Virtually every nut, bolt, wire and component of
this car has been reconditioned to better-than-new standards. This
Mustang was virtually rust-free and had no body damage anywhere on
the car after being stripped of all its paint. The car comes
complete with a photo album documenting the entire build process,
showing the car in its bare metal form through completion. The
undercarriage of this car is fully detailed and finished in the red
oxide factory color. The exterior paint was finished in the
original Prairie Bronze color, then cut and buffed to perfection.
The original vinyl roof was removed and painted in Wimbledon White
to give it a beautiful two-tone look. Before the all-new factory
Pony interior was installed, the entire floor of this car was lined
with Dynamat sound-deadening and insulation. The 15-inch Magnum 500
wheels and BFGoodrich tires add to the look of this incredible
build. Proving its Southern Arizona heritage, this car comes with
all the original vehicle registration slips from every year it was
licensed, from 1968 until it was put into storage in 1981.
