Vehicle Description
1981 Ford F150 - 429ci V8 - Automatic Transmission - 22k Miles
Shown TMU - Dark Burgundy Exterior - Red Interior - Prime 5 Spoke
Wheels - Mikey Thompson Tires Featured here is a lightly customized
1981 Ford F150 short box. This fun little truck is big on
personality and affordably priced. The body is painted with a dark
burgundy hue and the older repaint and amateur application. It has
some subtle flaws; some scratches and chips but overall presents
nicely. A Lund fiberglass cab Sportvisor and cab Racerback spoiler,
louvered hood, tube grill, and chrome bumpers add a nice custom
look to this truck. The custom look is finished with a set of Prime
5-spoke aluminum wheels wrapped with Mickey Thompson performance
tires. The rear wheels and tires are slightly wider in the back
giving the truck a muscular stance. Inside the cab, the truck has
been lightly modified red shag carpet, a custom, red-striped cloth
bench seat with a folding center, and the rear of the cab is
insulated with a custom red velvet panel and headliner. A Grant GT
sport wheel with a red leather grip cover frames the factory
cluster that features full gauges monitoring the oil pressure,
coolant temp, and voltage. An additional set of AutoMeter
mechanical gauges provide added monitoring of the engine vitals
along with a Tachometer. The factory sound system has been updated
to an Alpine AM/FM/CD player powering door-mounted 6X9 speakers.
Under the hood is lightly detailed and a vintage 429 V8 sits
between the rails. Upgrades to the powerplant include an Edelbrock
aluminum intake topped with a Holley carburetor with an electric
choke and a set of high-performance headers that feed into a custom
dual exhaust. A set of Holley cast aluminum finned valve covers add
a racy look to this high-performance mill. Underneath the underbody
is unrestored, but presents as very clean with regards to rust, as
both the floors and frame are solid. This truck features power
front disc brakes up front with drums out back and power steering.
A trailer hitch with a trailer wiring harness connector is mounted
below the rear bumper for hauling those toys around. This is a fun
little, short box truck that is reasonably priced and has great
potential for further modification or solid bones for restoration
or just a fun little driver as is. Please call if interested or
e-mail with specific questions. Thank you for looking.
