This truck is an intoxicating mix of vintage with plenty of the
right upgrades. So it's hard not to enjoy this well-presented 1962
Willys Pickup Turbo Diesel Dually no matter if you're taking it to
a car show or enjoying its true hauler nature.
The Willys truck was about taking some of the rugged Jeep attitude
earned in WWII and really putting it to work on American roads. So
we'd like to think they would have created something as useful as a
diesel dually if they had the ability. That's what makes this
creation so cool. The glossy military-like green paint highlights
the beefy lines on the industrial-strength style. In fact, we
appreciate the time they took to get some nice details right. The
ribbed doors are true Jeep pickup, the steel bed floor is a feature
that made the original Willys pickups extra useful, the roll bar
looks like it was borrowed from a Scrambler, and the squared-off
fenders are such a part of the icon that you'll find them on new
Wranglers and Gladiators today. So while much of this may be a
custom creation, it still instantly shows you it's a tough-as-nails
Jeep. Plus, since this is a more modern build, they upgraded you
with cool features, like crystal clear headlights, LED light bars,
and a beefy front bumper with a 12,000-lbs winch. And the proper
trailer hitch on the rear reminds you that a dually was made for
hauling.
The interior was updated to add comfort to take this well beyond
working class. The set of bucket seats is nicer than anything that
Willys offered. They have a supple look, terrific bolstering, and
green piping to coordinate with the dash and exterior. And the tan
is also used on the door panels, shift boot, and headliner for a
very uniform style. There's more added comfort for features like
tinted windows and cold-blowing air conditioning. And the driver's
seat is a nice command position with a wood-rimmed steering wheel,
a tilt column, and a full set of Dolphin gauges.
While this is meant to be a cool custom you can show off, it's
really still ready to go to work thanks to an upgrade in the engine
compartment. This classic heavy-duty machine is now running a
Mitsubishi 3.3-liter turbo diesel. These motors have been a popular
and reliable industrial friend for decades. That means you've got
good parts availability and plenty of torque for towing. And the
five-speed manual transmission is especially handy to get the most
power that you want. It's a solid all-around driving setup with
power steering and four-wheel power disc brakes.
You're not the only one who can't believe how distinct and useful
this one-of-a-kind Willys diesel dually is. So don't miss your
chance, call today!
