The Amphicar 770 is the ultimate vehicle for those who can't decide
whether they want to go for a drive or take a swim. It's the
perfect car for when you're stuck in traffic and suddenly feel the
urge to take a shortcut through the nearest lake.
With a top speed of 7 knots in the water, you'll be the envy of all
the ducks and swans as you glide past them. And don't worry about
getting wet - the Amphicar is so watertight, you could probably
take it to the bottom of the ocean and still stay dry.
The interior of the Amphicar is a little cramped, but that just
means you'll have to get cozy with your passengers. And who doesn't
love a good group hug? Plus, with a trunk in the front of the
vehicle, you'll have plenty of room for all your beach towels and
snorkeling gear.
If you're feeling really adventurous, you can even remove the
steering wheel and use it as a paddle. Just be careful not to

its debut in 1961 and were built through 1968, there were only
3,878 built. The 770's were powered by a 1147cc straight 4 cylinder
by Triumph paired with an all synchromesh 4 speed manual
transmission. The car runs and operates as it should and is sure to
leave a smile on your face.
The '68 offered here has been well maintained and according to the
owner the car was restored by Dave Derer at Midwest Amphicar in
Mendota, IL. The car is finished in white over white and blue vinyl
seats. The interior is very neat and tidy and shows well. The car
rides on factory wheels with whitewall tires.
