Vehicle Description
1956 Chevrolet BelAir 2 Door Hardtop. DGC0634 VIN-VC560020634. It's
a time capsule. Top notch car that is pretty well stock. It is
Sierra Gold and Adobe Beige in color, with 2 tone interior. It has
the 265 Power Pack V-8, which is a 4 barrel carb and dual exhaust.
It also has factory power steering that is run off the back of the
generator. This car was in two private collections for many years.
A friend in Spokane has known of this car since the early 1990's.
The car traded hands in 1994 and the story I got was that the owner
bought it and drove it straight home and that's where it sat until
2003. The previous owner passed away and sold to another collector.
He recently died, and his estate hired a guy that is going through
the cars to get them drivable. He went through the fuel system and
pulled the radiator. He actually put a new aluminum radiator in the
car, but kept the original and had it restored. When we bought the
car we told him we wanted the original too, so the aluminum
radiator has been pulled and the original is back in place. I
believe the car to be very original, but it was repainted many many
years ago. It still looks amazing, probably because it was in a
climate controlled environment all those years. That is probably why
we don't find any rust in this car either. The underside looks to
have been under coated by the dealership. It's not pretty but very
solid. They also installed brand new radial tires and installed the
fake white walls. This was way too nice of a car to do that so we
installed brand new Coker radial wide white walls. The speedometer
shows 95,544 miles and that may be the original miles, but we have
no way of proving that. I drove it for the first time, filled it
with gas, and the gas gauge works. I drove it down the freeway and
it just runs and drives great. You may or may not remember the
plastic seat covers that used to be installed in many of these
cars. It still has its original plastic seat covers. I have not
seen a set in many years. This just gives you an idea how original
this nice car is. Great looking and great driving!!!
