"Innovation in design meets pure performance in the return of the
legendary Ford GT." The Ford GT story follows a 50+ year timeline.
The original Ford GT40s were built to break Ferrari's seemingly
unshakeable grip on the 24 Hours of Le Mans race. In 1966, they
took 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place at Le Mans, proving that Ford, an
American manufacturer, could run with the European contenders and
dominate them. The Ford GT name would lay dormant for almost 40
years, seeing its revival in 2004 with the new Ford GT road cars.
These were developed to be street cars first, comfortable and easy
to drive, with 550 horsepower to enjoy. Fast forward to 2015's
Frankfurt Motor Show, and the all-new Ford GT is revealed. It is
announced that the Ford GT is set to go racing in both IMSA and the
World Sports Car series, spearheaded by the Chip Ganassi Racing
team. Much like the fateful race at Le Mans 50 years ago with
Ford's triumph, Ford's GT under Chip Ganassi Racing took to 1st in
class at the 24 Hours of Lemans in 2016, cementing the modern car's
place in racing history as its predecessor had done before it.
The GT features a carbon-fiber monocoque structure bolted to front
and rear aluminum subframes that serve as active stress members for
the hydraulically adjustable pushrod suspension system. Variable
ride height, selectable drive modes, and launch control are
standard features. This Ford GT (K053) is the only Gulf Blau
exterior color as it was not used on any other VIN, making it a
true 1 of 1. The exterior features the matte carbon fiber package
($15,000) and is finished in Porsche Gulf Blau from Ford's Extended
Color palette 2 ($30,000) which is protected by PPF, including the
hood, mirrors, front bumper, side skirts, and front-facing aspect
of the vents and spoiler. The staggered-width 20? Matte Carbon
wheels ($15,000) are mounted with 245/35 front and 325/30 rear
Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. Braking is handled by
orange-painted Brembo six-piston mono-block calipers over 15.5"
carbon-ceramic discs up front, while four-piston calipers are
mounted over 14.1" units out back. The Sparco carbon-fiber seats
are trimmed in black and orange leather and stitching. Exposed
carbon fiber is visible on the door sills, dashboard, center
console, and seatbacks. The fixed-position driver's seat is paired
with an adjustable pedal box and steering column, and amenities
include air conditioning and an infotainment system with a
touchscreen. The lightweight leather multi-function steering wheel
flaunts paddle shifters and a digital instrument panel with
multiple information settings.
This example was delivered in February 2019 to its original owner
in Austin, Texas. After 4 years of ownership, he decided to part
ways with the car.
Upon arrival at Canepa, every collector car for sale is put through
an extensive and diligent process called the "Canepa Difference."
This includes a major and comprehensive mechanical inspection where
all systems are checked, serviced, and restored as needed. They
also receive an award-winning concours-level detailing, including a
thorough cleaning of each and every surface.
This is your opportunity to purchase a gorgeous spec example of the
legendary Ford GT with only 2512 miles!
