Vehicle Description
This 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu Restomod machine has been
upgraded with a mean blackout look, a custom A/C interior, and an
overall cruiser style. Plus, the freshly built 480+ hp V8 is the
heart of a very cool street machine.
This Chevelle looks nice in black. This was upgraded about two
years ago, and it continues to have a good gloss that delivers
plenty of shine. And because the deep black has plenty of
aggression, this Chevelle maximizes the speedy appeal with upgrades
like the cowl hood, blackout grille, hood pins, and SS badges. And
while the wheels look like classic Rally units, they are larger
18-inch rims that fill the wheel wells better for an aggressive
stance and can hold modern sport tires. But more than intimidation,
there are good details such as straight panels, doors that shut
smoothly, and bright chrome. It makes for a sharp-looking coupe,
but the full package never gets too fancy. After all, the whole
point of a street machine is always to be ready to hit the
streets.
The restoration budget included a terrific custom interior. It
starts with the full TMI seat package. The front buckets have
better bolstering than anything from this era for superior comfort.
The rear seats were upgraded to match, and everything from classic
door panels to new carpeting looks fresh. You have comfort upgrades
everyone will love, like cold-blowing Vintage Air air conditioning,
a cup holder center console, and a retro-style AM/FM stereo with
Bluetooth. But as much as those features are great for everyone,
the best treats are reserved for you. There's an upgraded
three-spoke sports steering wheel, a tilt column, new Classic
Instruments gauges, and a custom B&M floor shifter.
Under the hood is a 406 cubic inch V8. This is a small block that
delivers big block displacement, and it was a new construction by
the masters at Detroit Power Engines. Only about 110 miles are put
on the full build, so everything looks quite fresh. This was done
correctly, where the motor was enhanced and fortified with SpeedPro
pistons with 10:1 compression, Eagle forged rods, ARP bolts, an
Eagle crank, a Howards hydraulic flat tappet camshaft, and
high-flow aluminum heads. It inhales deeply with Edelbrock AVS2
four-barrel carburetor, a Thompson Performance Powerblast plate,
and an aluminum intake. And it exhales with added power as headers
feed the X-pipe dual exhaust. There are also good supporting
comports like the full MSD ignition system, a serpentine belt
drive, and an aluminum radiator with electric fans. This full-power
package is said to be a street-eating 488 horsepower. Making sure
you have the right power to back up this sound is a TH350
three-speed automatic transmission rebuilt to be extra stout and
has a 2700-3500 stall converter. You also have power steering,
power brakes, front discs, and the excellent grip of Mickey
Thompson Street Comp tires.
A lot of time and effort was put into this Chevelle, where the idea
was to enhance the muscle car attitude we all love. So it has the
iconic style while upgrading comfort and power, never losing a
driver-ready style. So it's the dark midnight machine that loves to
break in fresh asphalt. Call now!
