Vehicle Description
This 1962 Chevrolet C10 earns its honest classic style from being
with one family nearly all its life thus far. And there have been
plenty of more recent investments so that this cool classic pickup
remains a true classic cruiser.
A bright red pickup with a white insert from the special fleetside
trim makes for the same kind of classic Americana feeling you get
from a Coca-Cola logo. And this truck deserves to have some emotion
within the sheet metal. We're told this Chevy has been with the
same family since 1966. This has seen good use and good respect
over nearly 60 years of ownership. In fact, this was repainted
within the last two years. We like how the finish keeps this truck
looking bright without erasing the decades of work/usefulness that
makes this one robustly unique. So you may find a few dings in the
bumper and the bed doesn't have glossy lumber, but we think that's
the right character to tell this C10's story. And more than just
its history we love a truck like this because it has distinct
features like the tapered hourglass-style waistline and the
desirable big back window that give this family workhorse true
classic cruiser style.
The interior continues the feeling of a useful truck that has seen
some updates. So you have newer carpeting, classic metal doors, and
an older upgraded bench seat with distinct hobnail cloth inserts.
You can restore the classic under-dash A/C (the compressor comes
with the sale) or add a modern stereo, but the honest fun this
provides is already quite appealing. After all, even with the wrap
on the steering wheel, you can still feel the generations that have
gripped this before you.
The dark inner walls of the engine bay do a great job of showcasing
the red small block in the middle. It has the same kind of honest
style as the rest of this pickup, but that is certainly not the
whole story. We're told the original motor was replaced in the
1970s with this 283 cubic-inch powerhouse, and this V8 was then
rebuilt in the 1980s. And now this has been given plenty of
investments within the last few years, including a new starter,
distributor, plugs, wires, fuel tank, fuel pump, and carburetor
rebuild. It's all part of a history of mindfulness to keep this a
strong runner, and the recent investments were also about keeping
this a true cruiser. You have newer pieces like the wheel hubs,
brake master cylinder, and modern touring tires. Plus, you also
have power steering, a Powerglide automatic transmission, and the
C10's desirable trailing arm rear suspension.
Complete with the owner's manual, this is a cool classic with a
real history that it wears with pride. So if you love a proper
