This 1960 Volkswagen 23-Window custom microbus is powered by a
dual-port 1.5-liter 4-cylinder engine paired with a 4-speed manual
transmission. The replacement air-cooled flat-4 was overhauled
during the restoration process and features dual-port heads and a
12-volt electrical system. The exterior is finished in two-tone
Mango Green and Off-White over tan upholstery. It features a
sliding fabric sunroof, eight skylight windows, a safari
windshield, pop-out side glass, three rows of bench seats, painted
bumpers, and 15-inch steel wheels with VW-stamped hubcaps wrapped
by 165-series Coker Classic whitewall tires. Stopping power on this
bus is provided by 4-wheel drum brakes. The cabin has been
refurbished and features tan upholstery with white piping, along
with color-coordinated door and side panels and a beige mohair
headliner. Black rubber lines the front floors while tan
square-weave carpets cover the rear floors and cargo area.
Additional equipment includes an overhead ventilation unit, a
passenger-side grab handle, a storage shelf and a custom Autosound
USA-230 stereo. A 2-spoke steering wheel accompanies a body-color
dashboard that houses an 80-mph VDO speedometer and gauges for both
the fuel level and amperage.
