Thus 1965 Dodge Coronet is the recipient of a "meticulous
nut-bolt-restoration," the all-business aesthetic of this 1965
Dodge Coronet channels the spirit of vintage Super Stock drag cars.
It has a 383 engine with electronic fuel injection This Coronet is
also "rust-free" and to has traveled just 99 miles since the
restoration was completed.
The engine is a 383 OHV V8 wearing 440 heads, with a solid-lifter
camshaft and a Holley Sniper EFI system. The throttle body is
mounted on an aluminum intake manifold and the engine also wears
headers that flow into a dual-exhaust system. The cooling system
includes an aluminum radiator with a pair of electric fans. The
seller reports that the engine starts easily, with no reported
smoke or leaks. There are no reported performance issues with the
complementing 727 TorqueFlite three-speed automatic transmission.
It has a 3,500-rpm-stall torque converter and sends the engine's
output to an 8.75-inch rear axle filled with 4.56 gears.
The black paintwork on this recently restored Coronet is a "9 out
of 10," The exterior chrome and trim also are in very good
condition, also there are no issues or blemishes with the glass or
seals.
Inside, the cabin is very clean, and in restored condition, with
virtually no apparent wear on the turquoise cloth and vinyl seat
covers, carpet, door panels, or other trim. There's no sagging in
the headliner, and the dashboard and its trim also show well. There
are no issues with the gauges' operation. The car was originally
equipped with air conditioning, but the system is incomplete and
does not work.
There are no issues or needs with the chassis, suspension, and
brake systems. In fact, the photos show the components in very good
condition, with little evidence of wear. The car has power steering
and manual drum brakes, along with Competition Engineering
adjustable front drag shocks. It also wears BFGoodrich Comp T/A
tires (including rear drag radials) All in very good condition,
with no reported blemishes on the wheels.
This 1965 Dodge Coronet includes the build sheet and a binder of
paperwork outlining the components used in the restoration. "It is
a turn-key hot rod,"
