For Sale: 1951 Studebaker Champion in Winter Garden, Florida
1951 Studebaker Champion, Most recognized by jet engine looking
centered nose of grill. The commander name was shared by many
Studebaker models company did not have the financial resources to
add another body type to the model line manufactured by the
Studebaker Corporation of South Bend, Indiana (United States) and
Studebaker of Canada Ltd of Walkerville and, later, Hamilton,
Ontario (Canada). Studebaker began using the Commander name in 1927
and continued to use it until 1964, with the exception of 1936 and
1959-63. Inline 6 | L-Head! 169.6 cu in. | 2.8 L. 85 HP. Stroke :
4.0 in | 102. Compression : 7.0:1. Cylinder Block : Cast-iron.
Carter Model WE-715S 1-barrel carburetor. Transmission: 3 Manual
Column Mounted Gearshift The Commander was the company's mainstream
product, the Studebaker Champion was the junior model, and other
models were short lived or renamed as market conditions required. A
distinctive bumper, carried over from 1949, longer front fenders
and large headlight bezels, as well as a distinctive jet-style hood
ornament and shared an appearance with the 1949 Ford Sedan. Popular
Mechanics rated the early 50's Commanders at 0-60 mph of 17.9
seconds and was rated as getting 26.1 mpg at 30 mph. Loads of
chrome on the dash. Another signature feature was the parking brake
located in the dash. Steel top of dash. Leather interior bench seat
and door panels. Rearview mirror mounted on top of the dash. Big
three spoke steering wheel with the Studebaker logo horn button.
For a car this age the interior is in very good condition, 100%
complete. A rare example of classic car americana. Original sheet
metal car. In excellent condition, quality paint Aqua Green.
Beautiful emblems trim and bumpers airplane style hood ornament
split front grill with rectangular inlets. Huge Chrome beauty ring
headlight bezels. Side air vents Open and close the wall to allow
fresh air or cool air into the interior of the car. Large flared
quarters. Front a arms suspension. Round gas and brake pedals. Five
heater slats in dash vents. 100 mile an hour speedometer rear leaf
springs. This vehicle is either classic, antique, exotic, super
rare, or all of the above. This vehicle is on consignment from a
very large collection of vehicles. They are being sold as museum
quality cars which means they may not run or drive and may not have
run or driven in numerous years. The vehicles are of a condition
where they would be on display in a museum. As museum pieces we
were required to disconnect or remove batteries and drain fuel
tanks. Once again, these vehicles have not been driven, or even
started in quite some time. While we do our best to provide the
highest quality muscle cars with an honest and reliable description
