Vehicle Description
With its V8 power, four-on-the-floor, ideal color combination, and
overall well-presented condition, it's hard to beat this 1963 Ford
Falcon Futura convertible for vintage top-down fun. So when you see
the strong cruising nature at an affordable price, you'll realize
how irresistible this classic really is.
This Falcon is a bit of a sleeker bird than many of the rest out
there, and it shows that Ford set this up for a nice performance
car potential from the beginning. The hint of a hood scoop up
front, the Futura's bombsight hood ornaments on the fenders, and
the well-creased lines are all quite sporty. Plus, there are little
details like the updated tail lights, cool silver pinstripe, and
they deleted the side trim to show off the sleekness of the good
sheet metal. Glossy red paint and chrome bumpers always look good
on a classic convertible, and this one strikes the right balance of
attractiveness while staying driver-ready. After all, details like
the newer convertible top and American Racing Gasser alloys are
about upgrading the style while also having a useful substance for
really enjoying this classic.
The black roof looks nice in place, but with the flip of a switch,
it gets even better. After all, a red drop-top with a red interior
is always quite attractive. We even like the little details like
the black convertible boot and how the silver seat piping goes well
with the exterior pinstripe. You may make updates to the stereo or
restore some interior brightwork, but overall, this is about being
a drier-ready drop-top and so you'll appreciate the true focus on
the driver. That means front bucket seats with a center console
in-between. And there are good upgrades like the Grant sports
steering wheel, the Mr. Gasket shifter, and a full set of dolphin
gauges in the dash.
The VIN tells us this was born with a 260 cubic-inch motor, and so
it's nice to have the correct-style V8 still under the hood today.
It even looks distinct with the golden valve covers, matching air
grabber, and Sprint markings. Plus, it inhales deeper with an
Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, and it exhales with a sweet tune
from the dual exhaust. It's a nice power package for today, and it
loves added tuning and upgrades to make it even more of a fun
cruiser if you so desire. You get full control of it all thanks to
the four-speed manual transmission. And this updated classic also
has thoughtful driving features like a tubular A-arm front end,
rack & pinion steering, and front disc brakes.
This is the classic that has been upgraded to be enjoyed. So if you
want a drop-top driver, it's time to take this Falcon home. Call
