1979 Jeep CJ-7 Custom - Stainless Body Imported From The
Philippines - 4.2L Inline 6 - 3 Speed Automatic Transmission - Dana
35 Front Axle - Dana 20 Rear Axle - No Heat, No Radio, No Top -
Manual Wipers This is an amazing Custom Jeep that is based on a
1979 Jeep CJ-7 and is a real show stopper. The feature that most
stands out about this custom Jeep is the stainless-steel
hand-formed body that was made in the Philippines. Custom touches
include early military-style flat front fenders, MJ-inspired
windshield frame, and tailgate, as well as hand-formed rear
stainless wheel flares. The front bumper is a specially fabricated
unit with a built-in winch and the rear bumper is a customized unit
as well. Keeping the stainless theme rolling the body is protected
by frame-mounted side stainless tube rock guards and a stainless
tube roll bar. Inside the cab is very simple and clean. There is no
radio, no heat, or even windshield wipers. A single Jeep
speedometer head monitors speed, temperature, and fuel level. A
removable rear rubber mat makes for easy cleanup and the grey
high-back seats provide safety and comfort. Under the hood sits the
venerable AMC 4.2 litre Inline 6. The motors are known for
outstanding low-end torque and drivability. The factory
single-barrel carburetor has been replaced with a Weber two-barrel
carburetor and the ignition has been upgraded with a billet GM
HEI-style distributor. An aluminum radiator has been installed to
help keep this hot set-up nice and cool. Power is transferred
through a 3-speed automatic and a manual shifted transfer case. Up
front, there is a Dana 35 Front axle with manual locking hubs, and
in the rear Dana 20 differential transfers the power to the ground.
The factory frame is clean and free of any rust and lightly
detailed lifted springs and matching shocks provide the body
clearance for the Federal Couragia M/T oversized 31 mud and terrain
tires mounted on aluminum 15 wheels. The front brakes have been
upgraded to slotted and drilled disc brakes with drums in the rear,
power steering helps keep this rugged rig on the right path. Having
been thoroughly gone through this Jeep should require no
maintenance and is ready to hit the road, the beach, or the trail,
wherever the urge takes you! Please call if interested or e-mail
with specific questions. Thank you for looking.
