This 1964 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu has the right mix of vintage
style and solid cruiser upgrades. For example, you get a desirable
hardtop, a beautifully bright interior, four-on-the-floor, and the
correctly-sized small block has been upgraded for enhanced power.
It all makes for a significant classic that's also plenty of
fun.
This was the first model year for the Chevelle, and it will always
hold a special place in our hearts. Chevrolet tapped into a market
that delivered a car that was premium in Malibu trim and looked
sporty with the clean hardtop profile. Palomar Red is a
year-correct color, but this is an upgrade later in life. So you
have a nice gloss to show off the good body panels. The overall
impression is this is a car that likes to be an easy cruiser. They
even gave you nice details like the bright dual exhaust tips,
half-chrome headlights, and a polished set of American Torq Thrust
wheels.
The parchment white interior looks stylish against the deep red
exterior. The fundamentals like the seats, door panels, headliner,
dash, and carpet all have a crisp presentation that makes this
quite stylish. So it's a great reason to level the windows down on
this hardtop and let everyone get a better look inside. And while
this looks like a cool cruiser, right down to the classic bench
seats, it also knows how to be a proper driver. It includes a
sports steering wheel, added oil pressure readout, and a nice grip
on the floor shifter.
The engine bay has a nice look with the slick black fender walls
that funnel your attention to the bold orange motor and those
polished components. This coupe correctly keeps the 327 cubic-inch
displacement that was the top V8 for this inaugural year. But it's
not a stock heart. This mighty motor inhales deeper with a Holley
four-barrel carburetor and high-rise intake. And so it exhales with
a solid V8 tune from the dual exhaust and Flowmaster mufflers. It
has nice supporting components like polished aluminum Chevrolet
valve covers and an aluminum radiator. So it's a strong total
package, and you get full control with the four-speed manual
transmission. Plus, you have power steering, power brakes, and
front disc brakes for easy cruising.
This is a first-year Chevelle with the right premium Malibu style
and a hint of speedy SS nature. It makes for a terrific cruiser you
know needs to go home with you. Call now!
