For Sale: 1971 Ford Maverick in Concord, North Carolina

Vehicle Description

This 1971 Ford Maverick Grabber tribute has the slick paint to grab your attention. But the growling 525+ hp V8 and five-speed upgrade will really have you hooked on this all-around cool classic.

True to the Grabber name, this is done in Grabber Orange. The upgraded color is a bold and glossy way to showcase a terrific custom look that borrows the best from Ford. For example, the painted black and orange side stripping package is classic Grabber Maverick cool. But the coordinating black hood scoop reminds us of Cobra Jet Mustang. This all looks great because Maverick's style is coming into its own on the classic car scene. This has a real sense of style with the long hood, fastback roof, and a hint of Coke-bottle curve in the profile. Plus, it has great details - from the mirror-like bumper to the way the panels fit with quality.

The black accents on the outside are a nice preview of the full black interior. They invested in the fundamentals inside with a smooth dash, newer door panels, good carpeting, a taut headliner, and seats with comfy cloth inserts. There's even an upgraded AM/FM/CD stereo. But what you notice about the interior are all the driver-focused components. It includes high-back front bucket seats, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, a column-mounted tach, and well-placed auxiliary readouts. And have you counted the gears on the Hurst shifter yet?

The engine bay has an ultra-clean style ideal for showing off a serious powerhouse. This is a 351 cubic-inch V8 that we're told is bored .30 for 358ci total. There are also Edelbrock aluminum heads, roller rockers, a Ford Racing flywheel, an MSD ignition system, an Edelbrock Victor Jr. intake, and topped with a Holley four-barrel carburetor. We even have a dyno sheet from 2017 showing 529 horsepower! And the header-fed dual exhaust does a nice job announcing all this power. The upgrade to a Tremec TKO five-speed manual transmission means better gear ratios to control this big power, and it feeds into a 4.22 limited-slip rear for poised and quick take-offs. Subframe connectors, rear traction bars, and wide BF Goodrich T/As are all about adding driving confidence to this powerful package.

Nicely presented and wickedly powerful - this is the distinct V8 coupe you've been waiting for. So don't let it slip away.
