What a wonderful story and what provenance for this 1972 Pontiac
GTO. Mr. Vincent Pierotti Jr.- a crew member of the USS San Jose-
special ordered this car while stationed in the Philippines. He
went through Yutivo Corporation (which was the overseas General
Motors liaison). The car was designated for delivery at Winkel
Motors Inc., a Pontiac-GMC dealer in Reno, Nevada. Since 1972, this
car has retained a high level of originality. It still has the
original numbers-matching drivetrain and "731" Saddle interior. And
while the paint is not factory original, the car has only been
repainted once (in '96) in the correct "50" Brittany Beige.
This car was built in the Fremont, CA. General Motors plant. It is
equipped with a 400ci-4 barrel V8 engine that is paired with a
"M20" Muncie 4-speed. There are bucket seats with a center console,
air conditioning, Soft-Ray glass, hood tach, power steering,
disc-front power brakes, PMD Rally II wheels with Uniroyal Tiger
Paw GTS white-letter tires and more. This '72 GTO is accompanied
with extensive original paperwork & documentation (original window
sticker, GM letters, overseas order forms, original financial
documents, etc.) along with former service records. This car was
recently acquired from the Bill Barker estate, having resided there
for some time. It is a lovingly-preserved example worthy of your
acquisition.
