This 1964 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu has the right style you want in
a true cruiser. Bright paint, bright chrome, a custom interior, an
overdrive transmission, and upgraded V8 power mean this is the icon
that you'll love from day one.
The trim tag tells us this Chevelle was born a red car. That nice
deep tone improves with a modern luster from a later respray. The
updated paint has a smoothness that helps show off the straight
panel alignment and well-fitting doors. It sets the right
powerful/premium tone for a car that's an upper-trim Malibu that
also has a larger small block than was ever stock. The full
brightwork setup looks good, including the grille, rockers, rally
wheels, and wide chrome bumpers. The result is a sharp-looking
coupe that you'll be proud to drive.
There is more red inside, and it's joined by tan for an attractive
two-tone. The fundamentals like carpeting, dash pad, headliner, and
door panels look nice. And we love the custom bench seating now
includes comfy cloth inserts and Chevy bowties on the seatbacks.
This was made to be a cruiser, so it's more about being comfy than
pristine, but you can also see the thoughtfulness in the total
build. It's in how the dash was upgraded to a distinct wood-like
paint tone, and the steering wheel even coordinates. You can also
feel this is driver-oriented with the B&M floor shifter,
Sport-Comp under-dash auxiliary readouts, and a large
column-mounted tach.
Under the hood is a proper small block V8. The 350 cubic-inch V8 is
larger than any small block the factory offered in 1964, and it has
also been built with the best features. There's added performance
with a four-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock Performer intake, and
headers. There are also the right supporting components, like an
aluminum radiator and MSD ignition. The V8 fires up eagerly, and
the upgraded four-speed automatic transmission with overdrive makes
it easier to drive near or far in comfort. Add power steering,
brakes, and front discs, and you have an excellent all-around
cruiser.
This hardtop makes for a cruiser's classic with a sharp-looking
style and a true feel for the road. That's a total package you know
that you can't resist. Call now!
