1961 Sunbeam Alpine Convertible, Series ll made from 1960 through
1963. A two-seater bucket seats sports roadster / drophead coupe
that was produced by the Rootes Group from 1953 to 1955, and then
1959 to 1968. The original Alpine was launched in 1953 as the first
vehicle from Sunbeam-Talbot to bear the Sunbeam name alone since
Rootes Group bought Clement-Talbot. The Rootes Group or Rootes
Motors Limited was a British automobile manufacturer. Run from
London's West End, the manufacturer was based in the Midlands and
the distribution and dealers business in the south of England. In
the decade beginning 1928 the Rootes brothers, William and
Reginald, made prosperous by their very successful distribution and
servicing business, were keen to enter manufacturing for closer
control of the products they were selling. One brother handled the
powertrain, the other the steering and braking system. Luggage
rack. Motored by an enlarged 1,592 cc (97.1 cu in) engine producing
80 BHP w K & N carburetors. A revised rear suspension, A Series II
with hardtop w overdrive was tested by The Motor magazine in 1960,
which recorded a top speed of 98.6 mph (158.7 km/h), acceleration
from 0-60 mph (97 km/h) in 13.6 seconds and a fuel consumption of
31.0 miles per imperial gallon (9.1 L/100 km; 25.8 mpg-US). Soft
-top (stored behind the small rear seat). High fins. Quarter-height
window for guide post. Roll-up window rear edge angular. Gas Tanks
in fins. All chrome bumper guard. Code 39 Carnival Red (red with a
touch of orange) paint. Stringray fish mouth shaped front end,
hooded headlights. Big tall elliptical taillight housing & lenses.
Black stripes along the bottom underneath the doors. 2 tone Ivory
and Black interior. T handle floor shift automatic transmission.
Vinyl dash pad.. "Center Line" Mag wheels with mock knock off
spinners. Black wall tires. This vehicle is either classic,
antique, exotic, super rare, or all of the above. This vehicle is
on consignment from a very large collection of vehicles. They are
being sold as museum quality cars which means they may not run or
drive and may not have run or driven in numerous years. The
vehicles are of a condition where they would be on display in a
museum. As museum pieces we were required to disconnect or remove
batteries and drain fuel tanks. Once again, these vehicles have not
been driven, or even started in quite some time. While we do our
best to provide the highest quality muscle cars with an honest and
reliable description and realize the importance of transparency

modified, changed or personally owned this vehicle. Whether this
