Eric's Muscle Cars is proud to offer this beautiful 1955 Chevy
Panel Truck! This is a First Series"Panel Truck", the term was
first used in the 1910's. A panel truck was used as a small
delivery truck with a fully enclosed body, typically without
windows in the rear cargo area. Panel trucks were marketed for
deliveries and other business uses. Often described as a small van
(based on chassis of a pickup truck) were used mostly for delivery
rounds, equivalent to a "delivery van". Exterior Although mostly
keeping with the exterior in the original GM styling, this is
painted with a bright yellow exterior with black accents of running
boards with Chevrolet step and new sun visor with chrome edge. The
originally painted grill was swapped out with a chrome grill,
chrome mirrors, chrome window trim, and chrome front bumper. The
rear bumper has been shaved and aftermarket tail lights installed
and four chrome exhaust pipes. Weld 15-inch wheels are on all 4
corners and front wrapped by 205/65R15's and in back 275/60R15's.
Back dual doors swing apart to allow full access to rear cargo
area. Interior The swing of the back doors opens to the wide-open
panel van cargo area. The floor consists of oak planks that have
been finished with a light oak color with darker wood strips
between the planks. Gray tweed fabric covers the interior ceiling
and walls, and under the fabric, the entire interior body is
wrapped with Dynamat soundproof insulation. The seats are late
model gray vinyl covered buckets "faux captain's chairs" with
electric driver's seat. The center console is covered in oak and
tweed with cup holders and flip up radio which boasts sound through
two 6x9 exterior speakers and two in door 6X6 front speakers. The
dashboard is painted black with new chrome grilling to complete the
look. Two large Dolphin white faced gauges are in front of the
rally steering wheel, with extra knobs and pulls. Drivetrain and
Undercarriage Under the hood is a 350ci V8, topped with an
Edelbrock 4-barrel carb and intake. It has TH350 3-speed automatic
which pushes power rearward to 10-bolt rear axle. Frame and floor
pans painted black with no rust. Front suspension independent coil
springs, rear leaf springs with yellow shocks, and glass pack style
exhaust.
