Vehicle Description
A 410 hp fuel-injected speed machine headlines this 1965 Shelby
Cobra by Factory Five. But as you dig into all the details, you see
an all-around awesome machine with everything from slick paint to
an awesome chassis. It makes for your whole wish list in one
car.
The red instantly grabs your attention, because it's a quality
application that makes the roadster look like it's candy-coated.
And it's an especially sweet treat the way it radiates when the
sunlight shows off the Cobra's legendary curvy bodywork. This has
been built to get noticed. So the iconic racing stripes are done in
silver and painted on for permanence. Part of a real driver's car
attitude means this will show a few signs of being enjoyed, but
with only 8300 miles on the odometer, it continues to be a stunner.
In fact, while this car is built for serious track time, they also
made sure it had plenty of brightwork. It's just now showing off
functional pieces, like the push bumpers, dual roll hoops, racing
gas cap, and menacing side pipes. There's even bright accenting on
the proper Halibrand-style racing wheels.
The interior is pure Cobra fun. You have the classic-style Simpson
racing seatbelts, a wood-rimmed Factory Five sports steering wheel,
a classic racing shifter, and a dash full of crisp Factory Five
gauges. And Cobra people know to look for the details, like the
reversed speedometer. Plus, there are a few useful luxuries you
don't see on every Cobra, like wind wings and a working heater.
You can tell there's a lot going on under the hood. This is a 347
cubic-inch stroker V8 from the masters at BluePrint Engines. It's a
fully built setup that includes BluePrint aluminum heads, a Holley
dual filter air breather, an Edelbrock air gap intake, and BBK
powder-coated exhaust headers feeding those growling side pipes.
And FiTech electronic fuel injection gives you the best in power
and consistency. So BluePrint delivers the motor with a 410
horsepower dyno sheet, and with the big power setup you have here,
this may even crank out a bit more. There are even nice supporting
components like an MSD digital 6AL ignition, an electric water
pump, a March serpentine belt system, and an aluminum radiator with
an electric fan. The Tremec five-speed manual transmission with
McLeod bellhousing and Ram performance clutch gives you full
control of all the power. The chassis is a strong powder-coated
tubular steel frame. And while you're checking that out in the
undercarriage photos, don't forget to spot the upgraded tubular
control arm front end, adjustable coilovers all around, and
four-wheel disc brakes.
The sale comes complete with build receipts, title documentation,
maintenance records, a service manual, and a dyno sheet. This is
the slick Cobra build for serious power and serious fun. Call
