As Cadillac transitioned into the 1980's, fuel economy was still a
high priority to meet with newly enacted CAFE (Corporate Average
Fuel Economy) standards. Particularly after the gas crunch of the
mid-1970's oil embargo. Cars needed to shed weight, have more
economical engines, and provide greater fuel efficiency. The
massive, big block displacement engines were long gone and replaced
by an assortment of options to include a V6, a diesel V8, or a
Digital Fuel Injection V8 as options under the hood.
The upscale Fleetwood Eldorado Coupe would be offered for the final
time in this tenth-generation design in 1985, and late in the
production year Cadillac offered a "Commemorative Edition" to
celebrate its departure with a limited edition run from select
Cadillac dealerships. They were offered in either Cotillion White
or Commodore Blue exteriors, with a choice or Dark Blue or White
Leather, or a combination of both on the interior. Very few were
offered due to their late option RPO from the Cadillac executive
office, so today they are wonderful collector cars from a terrific
design era when comfort and drivability were in perfect
harmony!

Commemorative Edition Coupe finished in desired Cotillion White
over Dark Blue Leather interior! This fully appointed luxury coupe
comes with its original HT4100 "High Technology" 4.1L V8 DFI engine
and 4-speed overdrive automatic transmission, electronic climate
control system, Delco/Bose Symphony Sound AM/FM/Cassette radio with
power antenna, power 50/50 split bench seats, power windows &
locks, cruise control, tilt/telescopic steering column,
leather-wrapped steering wheel, Sentinel headlights, auto-dimming
rearview mirror, illuminated passenger vanity mirror, dual remote
outside mirrors, power trunk release with pull down, door edge
guards, under hood service light, rear defrost, carpeted floor
mats, trunk mat, wire spoke wheel covers, space saver spare tire,
and whitewall radial tires! When new, Midwest Custom Auto Tops, a
renowned St. Louis auto service, fitted this Cadillac with a padded
landau roof to enhance its exterior appeal! A common luxury upgrade
during the 1980's.
This car was originally sold from Moore Cadillac-Jaguar here in St.
Louis to the Enterprise Fleets Inc. on September 30th, 1985, with
just 91 miles on the odometer. It would trade hands to its only
other owner in 1987 who would keep it in the family for the next 36
years. Today, the odometer reads only 59,465 carefully driven
miles. It has always been garage keep under their care, and
maintained perfectly to ensure it was always ready to enjoy! Most
recently in May 2023, the engine oil/filter were changed, new
battery, Hankook Kinergy ST 205/75R15 1" radial whitewall tires
mounted/balanced, new rear shocks, new front brake pads/ turned
rotors, fresh wiper blades, and new fuel pump & sender were
installed. It will come with one set of original Cadillac gold
keys, aftermarket alarm system with fender key, original
books/manuals, and recent service receipt. Please take a close look
