For Sale: 1965 Chrysler 300L in Phoenix, Arizona

Vehicle Description

1965 CHRYSLER 300L 2DRHT, LAST OF THE LETTER CARS!

This beautiful 300L 2drht was a one owner car until it got sold in 1984 with 39.000 original miles on it. A friend bought it around 2010 from the second owner for $20.000. It had just shy of 69.000 original miles on the clock at that time, today the mileage is just over 69.000 miles. So he became the third owner even though he never drove the car.

He gave it (and two 300L convertibles) to a restoration shop to do a full, big restoration on all 3 cars. I got the 3 cars around 6 months ago, neither was completely assembled after the restoration. This 300 Coupe has only been driven around 100 miles since being put together, 50 miles to a local Goodguys show and a few times around town.

The original 413 has been rebuilt, the transmission rebuilt, rebuilt differential, new U-joints, the car was taken apart and painted in pieces in 2012 at a cost of $19.000 and change (documented), color sanded and polished. The body was media blasted down to bare metal, NO rust repair was needed anywhere!

The chrome was replated, stainless trim professionally polished, some NOS lenses installed, new shocks.

We removed the original vinyl top to make sure the roof was in good condition, we found no rust and we sanded down the roof, painted POR15 before installing a new vinyl top again.

When I bought the 300L Coupe it still needed a lot of assembly and I also had to chase down misc pieces that had gone missing during the many years at the restoration shop. I recently finished the job by installing new rubber weather stripping throughout.

Dual 4 bbl carburetors were added and a set of aftermarket 17 inch Mopar Rallye wheels with 17 inch redline tires, except for that the car is totally original.

When ordering the car new the buyer wanted almost all options available except for AC.

So the 300L has PS, PB, PW, P-vent windows, P-seats on both sides up front, P-antenna, P-trunk, tilt steering wheel, remote mirror on the left side plus right side mirror, rear window defroster, tinted glass, front disc brakes, cruise control and I am sure I am forgetting some stuff.

I have gone through most of the options, PW, P-vent window motors and mechanism, the P-seats on both side were taken out, the mechanism cleaned, freed up and lubed and they are working now. The P-antenna is clicking but the mast is not going up.

Plus of course it has the beautiful leather bucket seats with headrests and console with a floor shifter between the seats.

The front end was rebuilt as needed and it is tight and excellent now, new dual exhaust, new battery. New fuel pump, new water pump etc, etc, etc.

The car has cost close to twice the asking price including buying it and restoring it.

PRICE: $32.500
