Vehicle Description
1968 Ford F-250 6.4L 390Cu. In. V8 with high tunnel Was a single
owner contractor's truck that we picked up after sitting for 10
years. Super fun to drive, and hate to see her go, but if the price
is right, we've got to do it. Odometer currently reads 74,226. The
thing that sets this truck apart from the rest is the 3" front
lift. We were going to go through and reseal the engine, but ran
out of time and now have too many projects. Work that has been done
in the last 2 years: - installed AutoFab 3' lift kit (ibeam, coil
springs, tie rod) to give the front that proud face lift - re-bent
rear leaf springs to factory settings - RetroSound AM/FM stereo -
dash speaker - front shocks - radiator and hose - cleaned out both
fuel tanks - sound deadening / heat shield material on floors and
interior roof - vinyl flooring - interior firewall heat shield -
door fram gasket - window gasket (passenger side still rolls up
tight until it's broken in more) - cleaned carburetor - fuel lines
- seat belts - battery - bearings - interior door handles - door
frame weather strip - gas caps, sending units, gaskets, fuel tank
selector switch - glove box - various hose kits - heater resistor -
horn contact brush assembly - fan switch - sun visors & rods - +
other tedious stuff that you don't have to do now - ++ salvaged
other parts to use but haven't installed yet including windshield
washer reservoir and auxiliary coolant reservoir Only other know
issues at the moment are 1) no parking brake (the ones on LMC
truck.com aren't the correct length - we tried); 2) emergency
flashers don't work; 3) heater assembly isn't connected - fan runs
when connected to direct power, but won't work when connected to
wiring harness. 4) Will start up first turn of the key after
sitting for a while, but has trouble if you've driven it to say the
grocery store and then go home again. We think it's a fuel return
problem in the carburator, but haven't had time to diagnose.
