For Sale: 2009 Pontiac G8 in Morgantown, Pennsylvania

Vehicle Description

2009 Pontiac G8 Sedan

The name derived from the American Chief, Pontiac, the corresponding name of the city near Detroit named after the chief and where the division was headquartered. The G8 was built in Australia by the Holden company, a division of GM and Pontiac. It was modified slightly from the Aussie version mainly with the left hand drive for America.

For consignment, a 2009 Pontiac G8 GT which sports a 6.0 Liter V8, puts out 361hp and has a 6-speed automatic transmission. It has its factory paint, quad tip exhaust, clear tail lights, and a killer Blaupunkt sound system. It has been evaluated for an appraisal where the condition is put into the category of a #3 which translates as very good.

Exterior
Designed and built to compete with there more expensive European sedans, this car takes on many of the cues from those vehicles like sleek portended aero design which is leading the way with a split front grille, inset molded in head lighting, dual openings on the lower front bumper and a dual stopped hood. The aero look continues with the roofline which includes a sunroof and blackened window trimmings inline of the shiny chrome. It is a 4 door version which gives the car a short rear trunk deck complete with a spoiler and clear tail lights which are also rodded over. All gaps are nicely minded and the steel and neoprene is bathed in factory Switchblade Silver Metallic in very nice condition. No rust, no real body faults to speak of and obviously well cared for and garage kept, over the 10 years the consignor has owned the car. It sports custom 18-inch wheels which are wrapped in 245/45ZR19 rubber from the 13th week of 2017.

Interior
As we swing the doors to slip inside we see more aero euro influence everywhere. The panels are fashioned of molded plastic in charcoal gray and have a sleek look. As you enter the seating area which is covered in Onyx leather, we see tight high backed buckets with racing style bolsters to keep you in the seats, tall headrests, and manual adjustability. A rear bench is in the back and easily accessed by the rear doors. It too is in leather and in nearly unused condition. A center console races through the buckets, and has a glovebox, some cup holders, the power window, mirror, and lock buttons and the shifter. Above the shifter are traction control and seat heater buttons for passenger and driver. As we scan upward, we are greeted with climate controls which control zones, a great stereo which is an AM/FM/CD player and a large central screen to see what the buttons surrounding it are performing. Within the dash top in the center is a nifty LED red gauge readout which monitors the volts, oil pressure and temp. In front of the driver is a crescent shaped visor which underneath resides sweep gauges and another central red LED readout for the odometer. The dash is nearly perfect, very clean and is in charcoal gray tones with some plastic satin aluminum-esque highlighting throughout. Clean black carpeting covers the floors and a nice tight black headliner with the inset sunroof is above.

Drivetrain
Under the hood is a 6.0 Liter V8 with EFI. It has a 6L80E 6-speed automatic transmission on the back with a 2.92 limited slip differential. Headers and a Borla exhaust system are now installed.

Undercarriage
Underneath is solid unibody structure with many aero plates to cover any nooks and crannies that can suck up airflow. Independent Macpherson strut front suspension with rack and pinion steering is on and independent coil springs with an anti sway bar are on back. Power disc braking is on all 4 corners. All good given this was a daily driver.

Drive-Ability
She fired right up and on the test track performed nicely. Smooth handling, nice acceleration, and powerful bias free braking. All functions were in working order with only the AC which blows warm.

A well cared for example of this 09 G8 mid level trimmed car. It has plenty of ponies, and is a comfy interior with the only leather and LED readouts. A wolf in sedan's clothing...G'day mate!
