Vehicle Description
Originally, the Dodge Dart was thought of as an economy car for the
customers who were on a budget. Dodge made several performance
versions of the Dart and in the late sixties, Dodge engineers
beefed up the build by offering high performance big-block engines
and the cars were built to compete with the other manufacturers
muscle cars. 1969 was the best year for performance as buyers could
get a Dart with a Slant Six engine or all the way up to the 440 HP
big-block. Styling changes for 1969 were subtle changes from the
prior year model. The grille was slightly different as well as the
trim, a bumblebee stripe was now on the rear, and simulated intake
ports were in the hood along with parking lights. The GTS model was
produced from 1967-1969. It was the hottest Dart version of the
B-body cars that year. This is a superb 1969 Dart GTS 2-door
hardtop. It is very rare as Dodge manufactured 5,902 Dart GTS
models for the 1969 year. Of that number, 1,272 were two-door
hardtops with the 383 CID engine. Only 784 four-speeds were
produced and 784 automatics. This car is in the Dart GTS registry.
The car has been fully restored and the Medium Green paint and body
are excellent. The vinyl top is in brand new condition. The rear
sports the bumblebee white stripe. This Dart GTS was built May 9,
1969, at the Hamtramck Michigan plant. Miles are 76,834 total
miles, miles since restoration are unknown, but appears to be very
low miles since the car was restored. The interior is light green
vinyl premium bucket seats with console. The woodgrain trim is on
the console. The green dash pad is excellent with no cracks. The
steering wheel and floor shifter knob wood are in excellent and new
condition. All interior components are in excellent condition. Door
panels are darker green vinyl that are inset into black metal. The
engine is the factory 383 CID/330 HP Magnum engine and is paired
with the heavy-duty manual 4-speed transmission. Rear end is a 3:55
gear ratio. The suspension has been restored to factory specs and
all components are in excellent condition. With the 383 engines,
the Dart GTS came with heavy-duty torsion bars. This 1969 Dodge
Dart GTS is a matching numbers car and both the VIN and Data Plate
decode its drivetrain and options. Car is in Kentucky and available
for viewing for serious buyers only and by appointment only.
