Vehicle Description
1940 Ford Deluxe Sedan
Ford Motor Company introduced its "Deluxe Ford Line" in 1938, as
stylish upscale alternatives between base models (referred as
Standards) and two luxury Lincoln production vehicles. By the
following year, Ford production included and offered five
particular car versions: Standard Fords, Deluxe Sedan Fords,
Mercury, and its Lincoln and Lincoln-Zephyr models. Also during
1939 into 1940, in association with Murray Corporation of America
for Ford, deluxe 4-door "woody" station wagon models appeared as
well, exceeding more than 11,000 of those vehicles sold. By the end
of 1940, Ford models imposingly accounted for nearly 70% of Ford's
541,900 production numbers.
