Red 1938 Chevrolet Deluxe Master
This running red steel 1938 Chevrolet Deluxe Master was purchased by us about 2011. It was in a storage shed in Sacramento California. I brought it home over the Sierras in a snowstorm that winter.
The outside is dent-free. I have 4 grills -One is brand-new chrome, one slightly used chrome, the one painted red installed on the car right now and one other dented one. The interior has a red steering wheel and dash. It’s equipped with a simple black vinyl bench seat. I have the interior door handles, window handles, and a much nicer vinyl seat out of an S10 Chevy pickup. It has a 350 Chevy 4 barrel carb with automatic transmission. Notice the photo of the oil-pressure gauge when the engine is running. It has custom gauges installed. The body is mounted on a Chevy Nova frame. It needs new interior upholstery & headliner & flooring. I have some patterns. It has all the glass but driver’s door & passenger vent window are broken. It has chrome wheels. I purchased this car because it was more complete and it became my project car.
Grey prime painted parts car
I found the original project 38 Chev in a pasture in Menan, Idaho in 1969-70.
It has been stored in a shed most of that time. In 1975, it was prime painted with a grey color to protect it. I have Idaho license plates for it. I bought a new Mustang II front end with rack & pinion steering. The from end is installed with springs & shocks. The rack & pinion is still in the box. The cabin is very sound and solid. The fenders have some fiberglass on them. All rust areas have been repaired. It has a Dodge Steering column installed in it. The thing that impresses me most about this car, is how solid the doors open and close. I enjoy opening and closing the doors just to hear how solid they close.
Black parts car
About 2010 I became very interested in getting it finished and found a parts car in Happy Valley, California for $5,000.00. It’s a complete car with original drive train to the best of my knowledge. It has an inline 6 cylinder engine installed in it that turns over. I have never run the engine. It has a radiator. There are some parts missing on the engine. The front end is leaf spring solid axle. It has the original gauges on the dash and original seat with no tears. It’s black & has some rust on the bottom of the doors. All fenders are metal and in good shape, and to the best of my knowledge there has been no body work done to the fenders. I was going to use these fenders to replace the front and back fenders on my original project car.
Then the following year, I found the (before -mentioned) running red 1938 Chevrolet Deluxe Master in California in a storage shed. I paid $12,000 for it. It replaced my original project car.
These three 38 Chevs are being sold as a package deal. It includes all the cars & parts we have here. We we won’t sell the parts separately. Take as much or as little of the extra parts & parts cars for that price. We have clear Idaho titles for all three cars. All of these cars have been stored inside every since I owned them.
