Vehicle Description
A remarkable find, this spectacular example was first acquired by
us through a broker in April 1998 from the family of the people who
had first registered it in Florida in 1970. It was in entirely
original untouched condition at that time with only 23,250 miles
traveled from new as shown in the before photographs which
accompany the automobile.
The mechanicals were and are in good working order. As part of our
normal preparation procedures, the braking system was completely
rebuilt, the springs were rebuilt as required for proper standing
and ride heights, the existing air conditioner was replaced with an
upgraded unit of the period to ensure comfortable conditions in
Florida, 5 new BF Goodrich 820x15 tires were fitted, all systems
were serviced and the exhaust system renewed as necessary. The body
had never been damaged or rusted but the original finish was
unsurprisingly faded so we elected to refinish the coachwork in
lacquer to the original Tudor Grey. The interior woods were
undamaged but dull. They have been stripped and refinished to show
quality. The car was supplied from new with some desirable factory
options including a tachometer and altimeter fitted to the
dashboard. The headliner was replaced and correct limousine style
air conditioning ducts were incorporated. The carpets were replaced
with correct Wilton I wool and the Beige leather to the front seats
and armrests were replaced.
The automobile was then supplied to one of our more meticulous
clients from whom we have been fortunate to reacquire it with only
27,946 miles to date.
Correct handbooks, unplundered tools and factory history are all
included. We believe this to be the finest Silver Cloud II
available anywhere.
