Vehicle Description
GMC has been building trucks for well over a Century, in fact, even
though "GMC" has been in business since 1911, the two brothers that
started the company had it under a different name starting in 1900.
I am pretty sure there has not been another company that has soley
built trucks and commercial vehicles for this length of time. These
GMC's which shared a platform with Chevrolet was equipped with a
either a 235 or 261 for Chevy and possibly a 270 for the GMC? cubic
inch 6-cylinder 3-speed manual and were marketed as the Task-Force
line built from 1955 through 1959. This particular truck which
appears to be Tuxedo Black exterior is a very clean and nice truck.
It is very tidy and well kept that comes out of a collection of
other vehicles. It has been well stored. There are no surprises
with this beauty as it runs, starts and drives very nice with clean
exterior, interior engine bay and nice wooden bed. The body panels
are very clean and strait. The paint is good, I would not call it
concourse quality. The chrome and britework is also good, not
excellent. This would make a excellent driver and 59 is also the
last year that the NAPCO 4x4 could be ordered as a factory option,
so if you wanted to make a clone this would be a excellent
candidate.
