Vehicle Description
An awesome color combo, V8 power, and the everlasting appeal of a
fastback make this 1966 Ford Mustang 2+2 instantly attractive. And
when you see upgrades like the five-speed transmission and
Bluetooth radio, you know this is an awesome cruiser's classic.
The 2+2 Fastback has an everlasting appeal. After all, it's the
most popular with fans but it has the lowest production numbers of
the pony car's body style by far. Another nice piece of distinction
is the Emberglo paint. The trim tag tells us it's factory-correct,
and since it was only offered for the first two years, it's a
terrific hallmark of an early Mustang. This example was even given
a high-quality respray where the metallic element really brings out
the copper-like glow every time the sunshine finds those fastback
curves. And the chrome bumpers and the rest of the brightwork all
have a shining attitude for a radiant total package. This also has
plenty of added sporty style with the fresh white rocker stripes
and upgraded American Racing alloys that look like classic Mag 500
wheels. So it has plenty of driver's car appeal that makes it fun
to hit the street.
We love the style of the interior. The distinct Emberglo continues,
and now it's joined by parchment inserts that show off the deluxe
door panels and premium "pony" package inserts in the seats. And
you have terrific classic details everywhere from the working
courtesy lights in the doors to the fold-flat rear seat. But this
one has also been given the right more modern upgrades. For
example, the AM radio is still on display, but your real driving
music comes from the AM/FM stereo with Bluetooth that's hidden in
the glovebox. And it's an upgraded driving experience with better
contoured front bucket seats, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, large
tach, and Hurst shifter.
Under the hood is Ford's hardy 289 cubic-inch V8. It has some added
flair with the finned valve covers and matching air grabber. There
are also useful updates, like the newer aluminum radiator. This is
a strong runner that makes a terrific tune out of the glasspack
dual exhaust. Plus, the upgraded five-speed manual transmission
gives you good ratios to explore the V8's torque, and at the same
time, it puts you fully in control of the rumbling soundtrack. This
is a car that likes you to feel the road, but key details like
newer front shocks and rear air shocks make for a pleasant
driver.
We like this Mustang because it's a terrific cruiser from day one.
Plus, we bet you already have plans for upgrades. After all, with
such a big aftermarket, you can do anything from adding a
four-barrel carb under the big air grabber, to fully resto-modding
the suspension. After all, it feels like anything is possible when
you have one of the most desirable bodies of the 1960s looking so
distinct. So don't miss this fastback, call today!
