1959 Porsche 356A T2 Coupe

This 1959 Porsche 356A Coupe, finished in Ruby Red over Black leather seats with a leatherette interior, represents the final year of the 'A' series. Considered by many as the most shapely 356, the 1959 model provided a number of improvements over earlier models including a more powerful Type 616/1 engine with Zenith twin-throat carburetors, the synchronized 716 transmission, and a ZF steering box that improved handling. European Collectibles professionals fitted this 356 with new Oatmeal German square weave carpet, and fully detailed the underside of the vehicle. Serviced and ready for its next owner/enthusiast, this 356A will certainly elicit favorable comments at Concours events and local Cars & Coffees.

Two (2) owner Califonia 356, finished in its factory color of Ruby Red (702), its exterior is complemented with US bumpers with chrome over-riders, chrome driver's side mirror, shine-up license plate light, and Pirelli P400 185 65 15 tires mounted on silver-painted KPZ wheels (date coded 1959.) The black leatherette interior features black leather front seats with headrests and bright chrome hardware, pop-out rear quarter windows, a two-spoke VDM steering wheel with horn ring, patinaed Ivory Bakelite control knobs, and a Blaupunkt AM/FM radio.

This 356A is powered by its matching number air-cooled, four-cylinder 1.6-Liter engine that develops 60 HP at 4500 RPM, and 81 lbs.-ft torque at 2800 RPM. Power is directed to the rear wheels through a synchronized four-speed manual transmission with four-wheel drum brakes.
