Vehicle Description
Chevy gave the C4 Corvette a grand send-off by creating an upgraded
small block engine known as the LT4. It offered more horsepower and
it loved to rev. It was the basis for some cars like the Grand
Sport and Collector Edition models, but a few keen-eyed people also
picked up on it for the standard coupe that came in an awesome red
like this. So this 1996 Chevrolet Corvette runs in a very exclusive
crowd, and yet, it can be yours for quite a nice price.
This was the final year for the C4 and the only year you could get
the LT4, so you already know this one is desirable. But there's
much more going on here. After all, the C4 is maturing into one of
the sleekest classics around, and this example shows the right
signs of being treated with care. The tastefully added pinstripes
help showcase how straight the body panels are, and that lets the
sunlight roll off the glossy Torch Red paint with a smooth look of
quality. This shows all the right signs of being the paint's
original application, and its outstanding condition is part of the
package you get on a car that has averaged under 2k miles annually.
It largely has a stock and preserved style, but keen eyes will spot
cool details. For example, the extra-polished look of the alloys
goes quite well with the upgraded shining quad exhaust tips from
the Corsa exhaust. And that just makes this stunner even more
stunning.
If you believe that the Corvette is truly America's sports car,
then you'll love how the interior gives you a true red-blooded
American. This red leather has the same level of respect and care
as the exterior, and so you'll happily leave the targa roof out to
show off this coordinated and bold package. But more than just
looking great, Corvettes were made to be driven. The stylish and
grippy bucket seats are all-day comfortable. The revised C4 digital
speedometer has matured into an interesting readout that looks good
and works with precision. A premium Corvette like this means a long
list of features, including automatic A/C climate control, power
windows, power locks, power mirrors, power seats, electric rear
defogger, dual airbags, ABS, an upgraded AM/FM/CD/XM stereo.
The LT4 engine was a single-year offering. It's easy to spot with
its red intake manifold on top of this fuel-injected powerhouse.
This is one of the best motors of the C4 era, with ten percent more
power than the LT1 and a wonderful willingness to rev. So it makes
for a great driver's car and a great collectible. You can see from
the full picture file that the engine/suspension follows the car's
overall theme of respected preservation with just the right
upgrades. And so a clean motor means good maintenance and care. It
fires up eagerly, and the updated resonator package on the dual
exhaust means an even more intoxicating V8 tune. The key to getting
the potent LT4 in a more stand-style Corvette was opting for the
new ZF six-speed manual transmission. So not only did you get more
power, but also you got to fully take control of it. The suspension
on the later C4s found the ideal balance of road-carving sports car
and highway-mile cruiser. It's all part of a package that includes
power steering, four-wheel power disc brakes, and grippy Goodyear
Eagle F1 tires.
Complete with the owner's manual, this is the final-year C4 with
the ideal motor, transmission, and color combo. It's a great
classic treated with the respect that you want in a car you can
both drive and cherish forever. Call today!!!
