This extremely rare and highly sought after 1970 Mustang Mach 1 is
one of only 364 examples of a 428 Cobra Jet "Non-Ram Air" model
produced for the entire 1970 model year. Power comes from its
original 428ci Cobra Jet Ram Air V8 engine paired with its original
C-6 automatic transmission. Very desirable and rare, factory
original color Calypso Coral exterior with a black interior. This
car really stands out everywhere it goes.
Options on the Marti Report and Factory Window sticker include the
optional 3.00:1 Traction-Lok rear-end, power front disc brakes,
power steering, performance black hood stripes, rear deck spoiler,
AM radio, and tachometer.
The exterior of this Mach 1 shows grille-mounted fog lights, turn
signal hood scoop, rear deck spoiler, rear louver slats and a chin
spoiler. The rockers feature the one year only Mach 1 finned
aluminum panels. This example is finished in its factory Calypso
Coral with performance black hood stripes featuring integrated 428
letters. Magnum 15" wheels are wrapped in BF Goodrich white-letter
tires. The trunk features the steel rim spare tire, lug wrench and
proper trunk mat.
Instrumentation includes the optional 8,000 rpm tachometer and
140-mph speedometer flanked by gauges for coolant temperature and
fuel level. The odometer shows just under 52,000 miles. The chrome
dash bezels and on both the driver's side and passenger's side are
new.
Much of the interior is original and in pristine condition. You can
tell how well this car has been taken care of by the fact that the
original dash pad is in perfect condition after all these years and
had not been parked in the sun to bake. See for yourself. The front
seats, rear seats and fold down rear seat are also in mint original
condition. The car recently underwent a minor restoration. All the
trim black detail paint has been redone as well as the engine
compartment has been freshened up.
The car was built in September of 1969 and delivered to Zionsville,
Indiana where it was sold by Pearson Ford. From Indiana it went to
Kentucky and in 2006 it was sold to its most recent owner where it
was enjoyed for the last fifteen years stored in a
climate-controlled garage alongside his collection of prized Fords
and Ferraris. Research shows this to be a well taken care of
three-owner car.
This magnificent Mach 1 is now being offered with a Deluxe Marti
Report, an original window sticker, and a clean Kentucky title.
