Vehicle Description
Eleanor.....just say the name and any car guy worth his salt knows
what car you are referring to. The unicorn of the 2000 movie Gone
in 60 Seconds, Eleanor may have eluded capture on the big screen,
but this 67' GT500 Eleanor is waiting here at Burnyzz for you! This
GT500 started out as a vision for a track car Eleanor with all the
right equipment to make it successful in SCCA road course races.
With that in mind, a rust-free shell was obtained from Arizona and
taken down to the bare metal as a blank canvas for a muscle car
masterpiece. Under the hood went a full-fledged slightly detuned
for pump gas NASCAR Cup Series 358CI small block Ford engine from
NASCAR legend Roush Yates Racing. This monster motor puts out
around 750hp and revs to 8,000rpm with ease. Thanks to the open
side pipes this mad Mustang even sounds just like a Cup Car, the
noise is simply intoxicating, and you will do anything to get
another hit of that exhaust note. All the thoroughbred horses are
routed through a Richmond six speed manual transmission with
hydraulic clutch and run back to a NASCAR spec Ford 9 rear axle.
Now you can't have all this power without control, so the body has
received extensive stiffening through boxed frame members, subframe
connectors welded through the floorboards, and driveline braces to
eliminate twisting and bending forces. A fully fabricated front
suspension with Penske race shocks combine with a four-link rear
suspension with Panhard bar and adjustable coil over shocks to make
this a compliant street car that is just as much at home on the
racetrack. Brakes are race spec also with slotted, ventilated
two-piece rotors all around with four piston front calipers and
dual piston rear. In a concession to street-ability, this GT500 was
fitted with power steering and even air conditioning! Inside this
muscle car was lavished with leather covered high bolster bucket
seats, Dakota digital instruments, center console with cup holders
(better have a lid!), a real wood steering wheel, and premium
Pioneer sound system. As a nod to safety, this Eleanor received a
half cage and a racing spec fuel cell. In dedication to making this
Eleanor as true as possible to the movie car, it was finished in a
dark slate grey metallic with two black stripes and all the correct
fiberglass bumpers, sides skirts, scoops, and lighting. It a fair
bet to say that this Eleanor would easily show its taillights to
any of the movie cars in a straight line and would put laps on any
muscle car around a road course. This GT500E has is all and then
some more piled on top of that. Don't sit by and let this unicorn
get away, contact Brian at 352-307-1968 and make some movie magic
happen today!! Financing and transportation services are available!
