This 1968 Chevelle Malibu hardtop is very impressive. It was a
136.... code from the factory, but has benefited from an
outstanding frame-off restoration (2012) that honors the legendary
Chevelle SS396. The exterior received a professional two-stage
Silver respray that is accented with the SS396 hood/stripes, SS396
grille/rear fascia/logos and excellent chrome/stainless. The stance
is pure muscle car on 15"x8" SS rally wheels and new BFGoodrich
Radial T/A tires. It's black vinyl interior has been carefully
restored and features bucket seats, 3-spoke GM 'wood' wheel, JVC
AM/FM/CD sound system, Hurst Comp+ shifter, tinted glass, an
after-market gauge cluster and Sunpro Super tach.
Under the hood sits a 396ci big-block that was built and balanced
by MEM Race Engines, Midland NC. (The owner has provided receipts
dated 04/22 for work done.) The Rat is equipped with aluminum
rectangular-port heads, an Edelbrock Air-Gap intake, 750 Holley
dual-feed carb, MSD ignition and hydraulic roller cam. A Milodon
high capacity oil pan has been installed along with a Cold Case
aluminum radiator w/dual fans. Tube headers route exhaust to a
free-flowing system. A dyno sheet is included that indicates
507hp/474lb-ft and this Chevelle sounds magnificent. Torque is
transferred to a 4-speed manual gearbox via an 11" M-Pact
high-performance ceramic clutch and a 12-bolt posi-traction
differential is fitted with 3.42:1 gears. The chassis is equipped
with power steering and 4-wheel power disc brakes w/dual master and
front sway bar. The suspension has been completely refurbished with
all new components including coil springs, ball joints, tie rod
ends, bushing and shocks. This Chevelle SS396 'Tribute' was built
to drive and enjoy. ALL VEHICLES SOLD "AS IS".
