This car is one of the nicest all original (except for one repaint) '63 Riviera's you will find. It has been babied and meticulously cared for. Only two families have owned the car since 1963. The seller's family has owned it for 31 years. The car has extensive documentation and receipts dating back to 1971. At that time, the car was in Boise, ID. In 1987, it was moved to the Portland, OR area where it remains to this day. It is a rust free car. It has always been garaged and has only been driven on dry, sunny days for at least the last 31 years.
Over $25,000 has been spent on the car in the last 5 years. Everything works, including the air conditioning which blows ice cold after $2,000 worth of recent repairs. The numbers matching, 401 cid Wildcat V8 produces 325 hp and 445 lbs. of torque. It runs and drives exceptionally well. The Dynaflow automatic transmission was completely rebuilt 3 years ago and performs flawlessly. This car could be driven on a 500 mile road trip at the drop of a hat.
One of the most common compliments this car gets is on the beautiful silver-blue color, known by Buick as Marlin Blue. The paint is an 8 out of 10. Although it has some imperfections here and there, it is impressive overall, and waxes to a very nice shine. The body is extremely straight.
All of the interior is original and its condition is remarkable. The leather seats and carpet are a deep blue, which contrasts beautifully with the powder blue headliner. The headliner is perfect. The walnut trim inserts are some of the nicest original veneers to be found on any first generation Riviera. The dash has no cracks. There are no defects in the glass. The tweed trunk mat and spare tire cover are spotless. The chrome and stainless throughout the car are in excellent condition.
