Vehicle Description
A red 1968 Ford F-100 will catch your eye for being both bright and
vintage. But those big polished wheels tell you to dig deeper into
the presentation. What you will find is a full restomod build with
a Boss Mustang level fuel-injected V8, an overdrive transmission,
an upgraded suspension, and four-wheel disc brakes. It makes for an
impressive total package that you'll love to drive.
The bright red paint, clean body lines, straight full-length trim,
and chrome bumpers are great for nostalgia. And we like how this
one has terrific lines without losing the work-ready pickup
attitude. So nothing gets too fancy, and you have color-matched
liner paint on the bed. After all, a touch of rugged attitude makes
for a good street machine, and those high-polished 20-inch wheels
and low-profile tires suggest your classic pickup is also a fast
Ford.
The sleek red returns inside on the metal components of the doors
and dash. A tasteful black joins it on the smooth dash pad, nice
carpeting, and more for an attitude that feels like it wants to get
down to driving. The B&M shifter, Grant GT sports steering
wheel, tilt column, and crisp gauges upgrade the driver's
experience. But this is more than just a power pickup. The upgraded
bench seat has good bolstering and a fold-down armrest to be good
for both spirited driving and long-haul comfortable. And upgrades
like the retro-style AM/FM stereo add the right extras for an
all-around enjoyable interior.
We often see engine upgrades in these classic Ford F-Series
pickups, but rarely as cool as this. Under the hood is the
4.6-liter fuel-injected Modular V8. This is said to have been
borrowed from a Mercury Marauder, which means it's the four-valve
DOHC version that would also find a home in the Cobra and Mach 1
Mustangs. It's cleanly installed for those who want a real driver,
and you even have the right extras like an electric fan and an
Optima red top battery. The four-speed automatic transmission has
the ratios for strong acceleration or easy overdrive cruising.
Because this truck has the style and heart that makes it great to
drive, they also upgraded the suspension. This includes the
Marauder/Crown Vic independent front end, rear coilovers, power
steering, four-wheel power disc brakes, and grippy Goodyear Eagle
tires.
Vintage style, the right upgrades, and plenty of fuel-injected
power all come together on the custom truck you know belongs in
your garage. Call now!
