Vehicle Description
The Beetle was a masterpiece of innovation and economics-it was
compact, but practical, and inexpensive to buy and maintain. The
car's curved exterior not only gave it a groundbreaking look, but
was aerodynamic, too. Rear-wheel drive and its small stature gave
the Beetle excellent handling, particularly when compared to the
American land yachts of its day, and the innovative air-cooled
engine required less maintenance and was easy to fix. Truly, a
recognizable shape that has stood the test of time. - vw.com
This 1962 Volkswagen Beetle is finished in the eye-catching
original color of Gulf Blue with a light gray interior.
Comprehensively restored approximately 20 years ago and
continuously maintained and upgraded as required, this Beetle is in
very good overall condition.
Spending several years in California before making its way to a
summer home in New York and then Massachusetts, this Volkswagen was
spared the elements that can be cruel to a car in the
Northeast.
The exterior Gulf Blue paint has a great overall appearance with
only a few cosmetic flaws, the interior also shows very well with
no areas of excessive wear, some slight discoloration of the
headliner near the rear window but nothing egregious.
This numbers matching Beetle has had the 1200cc motor rebuilt with
a big bore piston and cylinder set with the compression between
140-150 psi. The exact mileage is not known on this car, but we

roads and it performed flawlessly.
