Vehicle Description
One of the most fearsome names on the streets is Lingenfelter. So
when this master house gets their hands on the already
performance-minded 2005 Chevrolet Corvette Z51, then you get a
supercar level of performance. After all, this now has a fully
upgraded suspension, a ZR1 six-speed, and a specialty-built V8 with
the magical 427 cubic-inch displacement. But more than just a pure
street bruiser, when you sit in the custom and loaded leather
interior you'll realize this is also a 600-horsepower cruiser.
This coupe has the right look for an upgraded car. The Arctic White
is clean and bright, and it's contrasted by the deeply tinted glass
(including the targa top.) So it has a mean attitude with a touch
of sophistication. This balance of power and elegance is also seen
in the HRW three-piece wheels. They have an intricate and shining
style while also giving you a terrific view of the upgraded Brembo
brakes. Z06-style fenders, a full-width rear spoiler, and larger
quad tips of the Corsa exhaust are all about what distinguish this
as a power player. But when you also have the clean look of a
low-mileage garage-kept C6, this one is attractive even when
standing still.
The tan leather interior is quite distinctive against the white
exterior, and so it's great to take the targa top to show off the
full package. And as people peek in further, you start to see this
is a full custom setup. Corvettes did have a light tan interior
option in 2005, but this one is a deeper, and richer style that
looks good as part of a two-tone - it's a true black & tan style.
And the custom leather also has contrast red stitching for a sporty
style the factory never offered. So it's distinct without looking
overdone, and that seems to be this car's full attitude. We also
like this because it's loaded. It comes loaded with cold-blowing
air conditioning, cruise control, power windows, power locks,
keyless entry, dual airbags, tilt/telescope steering column, power
steering, a power driver's seat, and a touchscreen infotainment
with satellite radio, navigation, and Bose speakers. But even with
all these features, your favorite parts are all about what keeps
the Corvette such a great driver's car. The sports steering wheel,
well-placed shifter, crisp analog gauges, power steering, and a
head-up display are all about engaging your enthusiast side.
The clean engine bay puts this awesome performance heart on
display. Chevy fans know there's something magical about a Corvette
with a 427 cubic-inch displacement, and it only gets better when
you have one made from Lingenfelter Performance Engineering. It's
built to take serious power, and this one has an upgraded cold air
intake, a FAST engine intake by Wilson, upgraded coil packs, hardy
fuel rails, and a nice set of headers. The full package is said to
make 600 horsepower, which is more than this C6's contemporary
Ferraris. To make sure you properly harness this power, the
transmission is a six-speed manual borrowed from a ZR1. The fully
independent suspension is upgraded with PFADT coilovers and
stabilizer bars. Plus, the grippy ZR-rated tires, Brembo four-wheel
power disc brakes, and drilled & slotted rotors all add to this
high-performance control package. But the beauty of a Lingenfelter
car is that it's so thoroughly engineered that you have the choice
of downshifting into power on a whim or you can just drive it like
a commuter when you don't feel like being wicked.
Complete with the owner's manual, this is the C6 with added power
and pedigree. Rarely does a Corvette this special come up for sale.
