Vehicle Description
Classic Car Addict is proud to present this awesome 2014 Porsche
Panamera S E-Hybrid for sale in our Mesa, AZ showroom. The Panamera
S e-Hybrid is what is known as a parallel plug-in hybrid. This
design allows the car to operate on electric power, the gasoline
engine, or a combination of both when the driver is looking for
acceleration. With a twist of the key, the car comes to life, but
not with the roar of a conventional Porsche automobile. Instead, at
the touch of a console-mounted button, the car will operate in
"E-Power" mode on electric power alone.
This hybrid does not have to be owned by someone simply looking for
gains in fuel efficiency. It is designed for someone looking for a
performance-oriented, electric driving experience, with fuel
efficiency served as an afterthought. The smooth integration of
powerful electric capabilities with combustion power is what makes
this Panamera S E-Hybrid so special. It is remarkable to drive, and
it offers Porsche-like control over many of the hybrid performance
parameters. This is the dark (and fun) side of hybrid motoring.
Finished in Basalt Black Metallic paint, we love the bright lime
green Brembo brake calipers against the black. The new Panamera S
E-Hybrid version offers the same exterior language seen in the
standard version. There is a redesigned front fascia with new
headlamps and larger air intake. Around the backside there's a
wider spoiler and redesigned rear lights. The new S E-Hybrid model
can be distinguished by a series of "E-Hybrid" logos placed on the
front doors, sill plates and the rear.
The interior is finished in a beautiful natural leather in Cognac.
The Panamera's family resemblance is strong inside, boasting the
same tall, rising, button-festooned center console found in every
other Porsche model. Those buttons (we've counted as many as 80
inside) are a polarizing element: Some find them overwhelming,
while others appreciate the direct nature of one button, one task
as opposed to digging your way through various menu functions on a
display screen. The Panamera still has a touchscreen for most
infotainment functions and generally works well, but its 7-inch
size can be nearly half of some rival systems. Standard tech
features include a navigation system, a 7-inch central touchscreen,
smartphone app integration, Bluetooth connectivity and an
11-speaker sound system with satellite and HD radios, an auxiliary
audio jack, a USB port, and a media player interface. The Edition
trims add special badging and design cues, the Turbo's 20-inch
wheels, Cognac leather upholstery, a power-adjustable sport
steering wheel, 14-way power front seats with heat in the
front.
The rear-wheel-drive plug-in Panamera S E-Hybrid receives an
Audi-sourced supercharged 3.0-liter V6 that's paired with a 95-hp
electric motor for a combined output of 416 hp. The transmission is
a conventional eight-speed automatic. The EPA estimates that it
will return 25-mpg combined when driven in hybrid mode when the
plug-in portion of its battery has been depleted. This electric
motor will take its power from a newly developed 9.4 kHw
lithium-ion battery and requires only about 4 hours to be
recharged. The new electric system produces more than double the
horsepower of the first-generation Hybrid and holds five times the
energy capacity in its batteries. The new S E-Hybrid can sprint
from 0 to 60 mph in just 5.2 seconds and up to a top speed of 167
mph.
The 2016 Porsche Panamera is a curious automotive creature. It has
the feature content, interior quality and price tag of a flagship
luxury sedan, yet it has only four seats and the hatchback body
style of, well, a hatchback. It has the interior design and
performance soul of a 911, and the exterior styling of one that
wants to be seen. The Panamera really is like nothing else on the
road, and that just makes it even more special. Own this beauty
