This rare Butler Cobra is #53 of about 104 built. Ron Butler was a
mechanic and crew chief for Carrol Shelby in the 1960's. He went to
Lemans 5 times. From the late 70's to the mid 1990's he built just
over 100 Cobra 427 kits. Butler Cobras are known for their strong
chassis, excellent quality, safety and superb handling with 50/50
weight distribution. Butler Cobra #53 is powered by a Holman-Moody
built 427 side oiler engine and equipped with a heavy duty Doug
Nash 5 speed manual transmission, Wilwood disc brakes up front,
Jaguar independent rear suspension with inboard disc brakes and
Kelsey-Hayes pin drive knock-off wheels. The Cobra must be seen and
driven to fully appreciate. Outstanding build quality throughout.
