CPR Classic is delighted to offer this lovely 2002 Porsche 996
Carrera 4S Coupe that is finished in Arctic Silver Metallic over a
Black full leather interior with factory sport seats. This example
has had just 2 owners since new with the second individual having
owned the car for the last 18 years.
The car was sold new by Sunset Auto Group out of Sarasota, Florida
to its first owner, a California resident living in Poway. The car
spent the first 3 years of its life with its first owner, covering
approximately 18,000 miles. During this time, the car was serviced
at Porsche San Diego and Hoehn Porsche Carlsbad. In July of 2005,
the car was purchased by Hoehn Porsche Carlsbad where it was put
through inspection and then offered as a Certified Pre-Owned
example. The car was then purchased by a North County San Diego
resident who has owned the car for the past 18 years. The car was
exclusively serviced by Hoehn Porsche from the Summer of 2005 until
the Summer of 2014. For the past 9 years, the car has been
maintained by All German Auto of Escondido, California. Detailed
service history for the past 18 years is included with the sale of
the car.
During the car's most recent ownership, it has been very lightly
modified to improve driving performance and feel. A factory
aluminum shifter was added along with a factory short-shift kit. A
factory aluminum handbrake lever was also sourced and added to
match the shifter. A K&N Engineering intake and a set of Fister
primary mufflers were installed to increase horsepower and sound
quality. The current exhaust system provides a wonderful tone with
no added drone or unnecessary sound pollution in the cabin. The
factory mufflers and factory air box have been retained and are
included with the sale of the car.
The car's factory options are as follows:
425 Rear Window Wiper
498 Delete Model Designation
696 AM/FM Radio with CD Player
762 PAG Code - Carrera Facelift
AH Black Full Leather
M6A Black Mats - Porsche lettering
P78 Sport Seats w/Full Leather Int
X1 Arctic Silver Metallic Top
The exterior paint meters as factory original and there are only
very minimal blemishes on the front end from stone chips. The car
has never had a clear bra or paint protection film installed.
The Porsche 996 was Porsche's first iteration of the
water-cooled-based 911. This example sports a 3.6 liter naturally
aspirated flat-six engine producing 320 horsepower at 7,300 RPM
mated to a 6-Speed Manual gearbox. Power is sent to all four wheels
as standard. 0-60 times are 5.1 seconds with a top speed of 174 MPH
and the car carries a curb weight of 3,240 pounds.
The Porsche 996 still provides the best "bang for your buck" when
entering 911 ownership. This example being a C4S provides
additional performance than a standard 996 and a much prettier
aesthetic with its Turbo wide-body tub. This example can still be
purchased today for a mere fraction of its original MSRP and has
been maintained to an extremely high level throughout the first 21
years and 35,000 miles of its life. If you are in the market for a
wonderful 911 that can be owned for an entry-level price, this is a
must-consider example.
