Appears to be near new in every way.....excellent floors, subframes, body, paint, interior, dash, seats, headliner, drivetrain, chrome, etc. Not sure if it is excellent original or excellent restored....does it matter?
Rare in the US, especially in left hand drive. And surprisingly useful....rear seat folds down offering lots of room....for such a tiny car. Work just done: new clutch master and slave cylinder, new brake dual master cylinder, all wheel cylinders and brake shoes checked, fresh oil and filter, all lights, heater, horn, wipers, washers checked (and all in working condition), even the original lighter works.
As with similar Morris Minors, a dandy car to use for promotion of a baker,y, florist, or any other small business. And great for local deliveries. Sort of 'makes a statement.' Fun to drive, roomy and comfortable, and in excellent condition.
I have cruised at a steady 80 mph and the engine doesn't seem as if it was working too hard. Handing is awesome, no roll, light precise steering, ample braking, and a superior ride to any dry suspension car I have ever driven. Surprisingly quiet with the windows rolled up, quicker acceleration than you would expect from reading the specs. AND IF I WAS GOING to keep it, might dye the seats and panels in Camel, consider an exterior wood kit, stick in a nice stereo under the dash, and a few other accessories.
It starts instantly, runs flawlessly, has far more performance than I would have ever suspected in a 998c Mini, and it really looks very close to 'as new' throughout.
