As Alfa's all-new flagship line, the 2600 marked the end of the
Italian company's long-standing tradition of producing
four-cylinder cars. Offered as a Spider, four-door Berlina, or a
two-door Sprint, the 2600 was available to customers in three very
distinctive body styles. The all-alloy 2.6 liter inline
six-cylinder engine, like its predecessors, made use of
dual-overhead camshafts. Less than 2,300 2600 Spiders were ever
produced.
Considered one of the most underrated Italian tourers of the
1960's, here is an ideal driver's steed for distance tours, rallies
or continued use. Much more spacious and practical than the smaller
750/101/105 Alfas, this particular Spider received its current
livery in years past, while still retaining many original
components and a recorded mileage of 34,501.
The Alfa's black paintwork is older, while the cabin's upholstery
was refreshed in recent years - including seat covers, door panels,
RetroSound radio, rear seat/boot cover, carpeting and supplemental
rubber Alfa Romeo / Superleggera mats. The Spider is complete with
both convertible soft top and rare hardtop with stand. 165R400
Michelin X tires are dated 2015. The 2600's engine bay is tidy with
much work performed during the 2013-2020 era, including a rebuilt
of the engine's top and bottom end, clutch and hydraulics, complete
ignition system and braking systems, cooling system, lighting,
electrical, rear end, cabin fan and more.
With their broad torque band, classic styling and versatility, once
sorted, 2600's inherently balanced characteristics are known to
easily tackle the most challenging roads. We offer AR193021 for
worldwide purchase and delivery from our Houston, Texas
showroom.
