Matching VIN numbers 524401 (on the frame and the engine) was
produced in 1951.
According to the owner this motorcyle has the original frame,
engine, wheels, fuel tank, and fenders.
Seat is a solo Pagusa.
The bodywork, the frame, the wheels, and the fenders, have been
repainted.
All the black stripes (fuel tank, fenders, wheels) are painted by
hand.
The cylinder heads were refurbished with new valves, guides and
seat.
Many parts of the motorcycle were refinished in copper to add a
customized character.
Wheel bearings have been changed
Last service was on November 2022 - changed the engine oil, the oil
filter, the spark plugs, new wiring harness, switches, and gasoline
cables.
After the service it has been driven only 230 km. (142 miles)
The BMW R51/3 was BMW's second post-World War II 500 cc motorcycle,
following the briefly produced R51/2. This R51/3 happens to be one
of the finest examples on the market today.
