GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this 1965 Chevrolet
Corvette
Convertible with hard top. This is a true big block 1965 Corvette.
It
is powered by its NOM 396 / 425 hp engine, 4-speed manual
transmission and rear wheel drive. It was sold new on May 11,
1965 at Don Allen Chevrolet of Pittsburg, PA. The car features
an
older restoration finished in its original Nassau Blue over
Blue
interior with white-soft top and Nassau Blue factory hard top.
Highlights include: Knock off wheels, side exhaust, 160 mph
speedometer, wood steering wheel, 7000 rpm tach, upgraded
radio (original included with the car), ignition shielding and
an
aluminum radiator was added to aid in cooling an increase
drivability.
The restoration was completed approximately 10 or so years ago
and it still holds up strong. The car has been driven and
enjoyed
so it is not a perfect trailer queen, rather a high-quality driver
that
performs very well in all driving situations and shows
excellent.
The body panels all appear to be original as the bonding strips
are
all present.
1965 was the first year for the Big Block Corvettes and they
were
quite rare and considered a holy grail among Corvette
collectors.
The car here is a quality example that will continue to mature
as
an investment. It has been recently services and ready for
immediate enjoyment. This Corvette is documented by its
original
protect-o-plate, with original selling dealer and owner
information.
